Aiste - Polaiteoirí

Cé a bheadh in a pholaiteoir in Éirinn sa lá atá inniu ann!

An mbíonn tú ag féachaint ar an teilifís, ag éisteacht leis an raidió nó an léann tú na nuachtáin na laethanta seo? Bhuel, i mo thuairim, má dhéanann tú aon cheann de na nithe seo tá scéal éigin cloiste nó léite agat faoin pholaiteoirí, táim cinnte dearfach de! Is minic a bhíonn siad I mbéal na ndaoine. Ní théann lá thart nach mbíonn tagairt do pholaiteoirí sna meáin. Bíonn siad líon lán de thuairiscí fúthu agus cé chomh dona is atá siad. Ní thuigim sonas gur mhaith le héinne a bheith ina pholaiteoir!

Dar leo féin gur daoine iad a dhéanann rogha den pholaitíocht chun leas na tíre a dhéanamh, gnáth dhaoine a bhfuil coinsias sóisialta láidir acu agus a théann i muinín na ndaoine chun vótaí a fháil. An amhlaidh a thiocfaidh na daoine leis an tuairim seo?
Níl a fhios agam cén fáth go mbeadh duine ar bith ag iarraidh a bheith ina pholaiteoir sa lá atá inniu ann. Tá meas agus muinín an phobail caillte ag na polaiteoirí. Bíonn drogall ar dhaoine focal ar bith a chreidiúint í bhéal polaiteora agus ní thógfá ar an bpobal é, ar ndóigh an dearcadh seo bheith acu mar go bhfuil údar maith acu leis. Is dócha go dtuigeann an pobal fírinne an tseanfhocal ‘Is fusa geallúint ná comhlíonadh’. Bíonn polaiteoirí i gcónaí ag déanamh gealltanais bréagacha.

Níor mhaith liom a bheith i mo pholaiteoir. Ceapaim gur post an-deacair é post an pholaiteora. Níl aon dabht ach go bhfuil an Tíogar Ceilteach, a bhí go rábach le blianta beaga anuas, caillte agus curtha faoin am seo agus táimid báite sa ghéarchéim eacnamaíochta. Tá an tír i stát uafásach agus tá se an-deacair ar na polaiteoirí. Chuaigh an méad dífhostaíochta in olcas, tá daoine ag fulaingt ach chuir an Rialtas ciorraithe uafásacha i bhfeidhm san earnáil phoiblí agus ar an bpobal i gcoitinne. Ghearr siad an infheistíocht i gcursaí sláinte agus i gcúrsaí oideachas agus tacaíochtaí dífhostaíochta agus mar sin tá fearg an domhan ar mhuintir na hÉireann.

Bíonn daoine i gcónaí ag gearán faoi na polaiteoirí. Lá i ndiaidh lae, cloistear polaiteoirí ag iarraidh an dallamullóg a chur orainn agus iad ag rá nach bhfuil aon rogha acu. Mar shampla, deir siad nach bhfuil aon airgead acu ach níl deacracht ar bith acu na billiúin euro a aimsiú do na bainc. Is as seo a eascraíonn an fhearg, an easpa muiníne agus an múisiam atá le feiceáil i ngach uile áit aoine. Is iomaí cúis ghearáin eile atá ag daoine maidir le gníomhaíochtaí, nó easpa gníomh, ár bpolaiteoirí. Tá sé an-deacair gach duine a shásamh. Is cuma cad a dhéanann tú, beidh duine éigin ag gearán. Mar sin, níl a fhois agam cé a bheadh ina pholaiteoir in Éirinn sa lá atá inniu ann!

Bhí go leor scannail i measc na bpolaiteoirí le blianta beaga anuas. Léiríodh i mblianta go raibh polaiteoirí áirithe ag iarraidh costaisí taistil a bhí ró-ard ar fad agus anois tá brú an-mhór orthu go léir gan airgead an íocaí cánach a chaitheamh go mídhleathach.

Is cinnte go bhfuil polaiteoirí maithe agus droch pholaiteoirí ann ach sin a tharlaíonn i ngach gné den tsaol. Ceapaim go mba cheart do gach polaiteoir a dhícheall a dhéanamh ar son na ndaoine a thug vóta dó/di. An t-aon rud a thaitheodh liom faoi phost an pholaiteora ná an pá maith agus na laethanta saoire fada atá acu. Ach fós, ní dhéanfainn an post sin ar ór ná airgead agus níl a fhois agam cén fáth go ndeánfadh duine ar bith é ach oiread!

Biology Revision Questions

This is a list of short questions which may be useful for revising Biology as it covers a wide variety of topics. I will post the answers to the questions separately in the next post.

I did not write these questions or design the layout so I cannot take credit for it but I have it so thought it would be useful for others too!

_________________________________________________________________________________

The following questions are taken from past Leaving Certificate Examination Papers (2004 - 2011).  Questions on the same topic have been separated to provide random revision. If questions are repeated it only highlights their greater significance or importance as they have been asked more often over the years.

N.B. These questions do not cover the entire syllabus. Knowing the answers to these questions only is not a guarantee of an excellent result.
